hi i was just wandering how did you manage to engage your inner thighs for a la seconde developpe..i cant seem to feel mine at all :S

Hello. Erm i think you have to start small. Keep a nice turn out from the hips. Do a tendu to the side engaging your inner thighs from a nice turned out first position. Dont use your 'upper' thigh muscle to tendu. You should be able to feel it when done correctly. Then from that nice turned out position, lift your leg to a 45 or 90 degree (whichever you're more comfortable with) keeping that same turnout. Your inner thigh will definitely burn :X

If you still cant feel it then my advice will be to start small with tendus and degages and stuff like that engaging your inner thigh. Keep practicing those till you can feel the difference. Then lift your leg higher and higher. If your inner thigh burns, you've done it correctly! :) Once you get used to using your inner thigh muscles you can proceed to the usual developpes with the unfolding movement from the knee. Same concept. Most importantly keep well turned out from the hips! And of course dont forget the pull up and dont sit on your standing leg. All these also help you engage your inner thigh muscle :)

oh and i was wondering if it is possible to practice lying on the floor to do the developpe first?
